Heirloom tomato candy

I’m a bad double poster today. I couldn’t resist sharing about this tomato today…

We had our first home grown heirloom tomato off of the vine today. It was probably the ugliest tomato I have ever eaten. Deep burgundy red on the bottom and a dark muddy green on top (I’ll get a picture of the next one that’s ready!).

It was also the most perfectly sweet and delicious tomato I have EVER eaten. I will have dreams about the candy sweetness of this tomato…

And then I remembered reading this article earlier this year.

I don’t think I can go back to plain red tomatoes. Turns out, God knew what he was doing. It’s a good thing we “fixed” it…
